I'm Afshin 'Alex' Farahan, and for me, rugs are more than just floor coverings—they're living chronicles of culture, artistry, and human connection. As a fifth-generation rug merchant and the founder of Cyrus Artisan Rugs and Woven Arts in Minneapolis, I've dedicated 38 years to preserving and sharing the timeless beauty of handcrafted textiles.
From the ancient workshops of Persia to the vibrant design community of modern-day Minneapolis, my family's journey has been interwoven with the threads of history itself. Working directly with master weavers in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Morocco, and Nepal, I produce exclusive collections and collaborate with leading designers and architects throughout the United States. Every rug tells a story, and I'm honored to be the keeper of these stories.
